The best of friendships aren't necessarily those with the most laughs or the most excitement. The best of friends are those who can stay with us even in our most boring days, even in days when we could hardly remember how it was to laugh.
“...couldn’t you watch with me for one hour? - Matthew 26, WEBBE
Stay
Won’t you stay with me in this silence,
there isn’t much to say;
Still I want you by my side,
as I watch the tides.
Let’s look at the sea
as the waves crash by the shore;
Let’s breathe the salty air
until I can sense peace again.
For there is a storm within me
that’s raging fiercely right now,
and there is nothing I can do about it
though I’ve really tried.
All that remains is to wait ‘til it’s over,
until I can be myself again.
But until then,
can I ask you to stay?
God’s Promise for Today
“Blessed is he who considers the poor.
The LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive.
He shall be blessed on the earth,
and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.
The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed,
and restore him from his bed of illness.”
-Psalm 41:1-3, WEBBE
