I'd Like to Tell You About Grace
It’s not too late to remember those gentle eyes
Grace. Do we still know her? Do we know what she looks like?
She, with the kindest eyes. She, with the sweetest smile. She with the warmest heart.
How long has it been since we remembered? How long since we received something by surprise?
We have labored long. We have fought for our rights. We seized what we thought we deserved.
Wasn't it justice we tried to claim with our hands?
But if we have won, why do we feel so tired? If we have done what was right, why do we feel empty within?
Was it because despite everything, we feel something's missing in our lives? Was it because in trying to fight for our way, we have left everyone else behind?
Foolish pride. We made it without needing anyone else. And shouldn't we be happy? Why do we feel so alone?
If only we could remember her. She with the humblest of smiles. She with the gentlest eyes.
Grace. She knew how to be so weak, and yet she has come out strong. She knew how to be cast aside, and yet she has prevailed in the company of her Beloved one.
What was it that she had? Help when she was lost. Hope when she walked in the dark.
She alone has conquered despair. She, with a grateful heart! In the end, it is the humble who are blessed. It is the poor who find so much!
