There comes a time when you’re so down and out that you just want someone to appreciate what you do. You don’t need another “wise” advice. You don’t need “constructive” criticism.
You just need to know someone is there for you. Someone who tries one’s best to listen to you.
That person may not understand everything that you’re going through, but you can feel that he or she is really trying to.
And in trying, one says a word or two to let you know that you are seen and appreciated for who you are.
And that despite of all the worst thoughts you may have against yourself, someone balances that scale and gives a little bit more hope and light to where you are.
Someone cherishes the smallest good that you do. Someone sees light in you where you can see only darkness.
And because someone sees, you get to believe in yourself, too!
You find some worth in who you are and in what you can do.
And because you found that little kernel of light, you start to have hope.
Today, amidst all the darkness of this world, I hope you find that one person who can shed a little ray of light into your heart.
Sometimes, it only takes an upward glance at heaven to know that you are not alone.
