Sometimes, It’s Just Too Much
There are times when we must acknowledge that things are just too much already. Too much for us to bear. Too much for us to understand. Too much to hold within ourselves without breaking in tears. Sometimes, it’s just too much.
Being a Christian and a Catholic doesn’t mean you’d always have it together. There are times when you could also feel lost. There are times when you’d be filled with doubts.
Why is this happening? Why is there so much injustice in the world? Why do good people suffer?
God is the only hope you have left, but even that, the world seems to want to put away.
There are days when I can’t read the news over the internet or simply browse social media sites without encountering things that merely add to your burden. There seems to be no safe space left.
You want to revitalize your faith, but everywhere around you, things seem to be falling apart. Instead of support, there is so much hate. Instead of understanding, there is superficial tolerance.
Sometimes, it’s just too much.
Somehow, I know that God understands when we rest for a while. Somehow, God knows how hard we’ve tried. He knows when we’re already at the end of our strength, and we need His to carry on.
