Sometimes, no matter how you pray,
the rain still falls, the storm still comes,
and the wind still blows your way.
No matter how you pray
to be spared from pain,
your heart will cry,
and you will sigh,
and tears will keep falling
from your eyes.
Sometimes, no matter how you pray,
the earth still shakes, the mountains still tremble,
and the fire still burns and screams.
No matter how you pray,
to be left untouched,
you can suffer so much.
Has God forsaken you?
Why was He silent,
when you needed Him most?
You can pray and pray,
and still be in pain,
and people may ask,
why you still have faith.
And you will say, because God
is still my Friend.
He weeps when I weep,
and I am at peace
because I believe.
He may allow me to suffer,
but only for a while.
And the glories that await me,
will be revealed in time.
Meanwhile, here on earth,
He walks where I walk,
and I am never alone,
I will pray and pray,
for in God alone is my hope!
