The Mystery and Power of God’s Healing
“But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings.” - Malachi 4:2, WEBBE
The Pain of Healing
Just when we think we’re breaking, we may be mending and being made whole again.
“We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed…” – 2 Corinthians 4, WEBBE
There are times when nothing seems to be going right. Everything breaks. Everything falls apart. We can’t see how things can still be the same, or how things could possibly work for the better in the end.
But such is not the time for despair. Rather, it is the time for hope. Hope that will give us the strength to keep on going. Hope that will carry us through until the first ray of light comes our way.
We may be in pain, but we shall mend. We may have fallen, but we shall rise again. And when we do, we shall be stronger and braver than we have ever been!
It Takes Time to Heal
“…for I am the LORD who heals you.” – Exodus 15, WEB-BE
It takes time to heal. We may understand things intellectually. We may forgive with our will. But our healing comes in seasons, times of waiting and of rest.
The pain doesn’t disappear in an instant. And the things that have been broken and lost are frequently not immediately restored.
When our hearts break, we have to pick up the pieces one by one. We have to start again each day, bearing the pain until we are whole again.
It takes time, but one day, our hearts will finally mend. We shall be stronger, better, more capable of compassion. Take heart! With patience and hope, look forward to that day when you shall regain even more than what you have lost.
“Though shattered, lost and broken Though heart could barely bear it all… I know that I will smile again And I will smile again!” -Jocelyn Soriano
Let God Heal You
“Every drop of earthly bitterness will be changed into an ocean of heavenly sweetness.” – St. Henry
Let God heal you. Hide not your wounds and your hurts. Present your every tear to God who can wipe them all away.
He knows your pain for He has suffered with you. Never think you are alone, for He Himself has gone through death itself even before you knew what darkness is.
Let God heal you. Let Him mend your heart. Rest in Him and let your soul find comfort in His gentle arms. You need not fear of anything for He will watch over you and keep you safe.
Rest for a while and let God do His work. It is not always for you to do everything. Surrender to your Father’s embrace for He has waited so long to catch you and comfort you.
Let your tears fall one by one. Let all bitterness be revealed, let all worries leave your heart. You have a God who cares, who loves you so deeply He will never let you go.
“And they cried to the Lord in their affliction: and he delivered them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them…” – Psalm 106:19-20, DRA
God Has the Power to Heal You
