Two Simple Steps to Increase Your Etsy Sales By Setting Up Ads
Have you optimized your sales potential today?
Are you a new seller who wants to maximize your sales potential for your products? Or have you tried promoting your Etsy listings for a while without much success?
Many Etsy sellers, especially those who sell digital products started with great hopes that they could make some passive income from their listings. They were attracted by Etsy’s business model that allows low barrier when it comes to entry.
What happens is that they quickly produce as many listings as they can, letting their imagination flow and thinking about how much their works could earn later on. Inspired by this vision, they forget that they also need to take care of the more practical side of the business they’re getting themselves into.
It’s not just about our vision and creativity. Although creating quality products is a must, we also have to have our business strategy that can sustain our shop in the long run.
One way to achieve this is by setting up Etsy Ads.
I can understand how many people get turned off by the idea thinking that this would be a very complicated task to do. But I have tried it myself and it’s a very simple procedure.
Here at the two simple steps you can do today to help your Etsy business:
1. Choose your Etsy goal
On your Etsy Shop Manager dashboard, click “Marketing” and then “Etsy Ads”.
This will take you to a page that looks like this.
Just click the button “Get Started” and you will be asked about your Etsy advertisement goal.
Choose the one that appeals more to you. When I researched this on Reddit forums, I read that some sellers made sales while trying out the first option.
2. Set up your daily budget
After choosing your goal, you will then be asked about your daily budget. Many sellers begin by choosing $1 a day.
That’s it! If you followed the steps above, you have just moved one step forward on your Etsy journey.
Of course, to see the results, you need to be a bit patient. Etsy recommends at least promoting your products for at least a month to see the results of your ads.
So while doing this, you can add more products to your shop or take care of your other side hustles. Then wait to see where your Etsy traffic and sales are coming from.
Test and see. Don’t invest too much at the start. Gradually increase your ads as you gain more traction for your sales.
Last important thing to note!
I discovered that setting a $1 daily budget for ad doesn’t necessarily mean this is all you would be spending. You can find this out yourself when you go to your Etsy Ads settings. Simply look at the “Manage your budget button” and you will read the note saying how much you may actually spend.
For me, even after choosing that $1 budget, it says that I could spend from $1 to $25 daily! It seems that the $1 budget is only the minimum you will spend on ads and could result in much higher fees.
