There comes a point when you get so tired trying. Even when you see a little light, you fear following it because you can't afford to fail again. You feel that you have so little strength left anyway and using it all for that little light is such a big risk you'd lose it all.
During such times, I realized that a change in perspective helps. Don't think of it as trying. Don't measure everything with that same goal. Think first of surviving! Think of hanging on.
Just do what you can with what you have. Remember that one day only has 24 hours for you to spend. You don't have to fill your mind with more than that. Be occupied but find a steady pace. Plan but don’t fill your mind with anxious thoughts.
Just keep on showing up each day. Cry when you feel like crying. Rest when you need to renew your strength. Remember that patience is the key to your peace of mind.
Days will pass by swiftly and one day, you will look back. You will see that despite everything, you have survived it all.
One day, you'd gain enough strength again. You'd feel the urge within you to move on. And when you feel like you finally mustered enough courage, then by all means… try again.
