There comes a time when you appreciate some things more. Like the simplicity of your routine. Or the presence of old friends. Or the warmth of family and home.
Times like that, you begin to be grateful for what you have.
You don’t aspire for too much. You don’t work yourself to exhaustion just to get ahead of everybody else.
You simply thank God for all that He has given you.
Food at your table. Clothes to wear. A job that fulfills your heart and soul.
Of course there are some inconveniences. And there are times when you may see how other people are doing so much better.
But you let those times pass. And you cling to the peace you have in Jesus.
This life is but a journey, and at the end of it, all we could ever take is the love that we have given away.
We may not have everything here on earth. But we can also be happy.
We may still encounter troubles. But our hope remains fixed in Him who will never let us down.

“The deepest wounds of the soul are healed only by compassion… People do not merely need to be clothed, they need to be embraced with love. A love that enters into their own fears and frailty, a love that suffers with them and stays with them through their darkest hour.”
