10 Free Book Promotion Sites for Free and Discounted Books
Plus some Facebook Groups you can also join to promote your book for free
Many self-published authors like me who have limited budget oftentimes struggle when it comes to promoting our books.
While we may feel that the bulk of the work had already been done after finishing the book and publishing it, the truth is that the journey toward selling our books has just began.
It’s not as easy as putting up an advertisement for the book and waiting for the sales to come in. It’s also not as easy as announcing your book to your social media accounts and then reaping your passive income from month to month.
Marketing is an ongoing effort, and indie authors should familiarize themselves with as many book promotion methods as they can.
One of the ways we can promote our books is through various book promotion sites.
These websites (which can also have their own Newsletters) specialize in giving books the exposure it needs so that more people can buy them.
If your budget is limited, you can start with the free ones.
In this post, I have listed some of the free book promotion sites for your free and discounted books:
1. Armadillo eBooks
Although their website heading for book is worded as “Submit Free Book”, their submissions page says that you can promote your books here whether it’s free, costing $0.99 or even more. There is a very simple submissions form where you need to fill out the required information related to your book.
2. Awesome Gang
It’s very easy to submit your book on Awesome Gang. They accept various book genres and they even accept Author Interviews. I also submitted mine and I didn’t pay any fee for that.
3. Book Angel
This site accepts free books as well as those below £1 in discounted price. Your books cannot have any explicit content because they need it to be PG-13 and must also be on sale on Amazon.co.uk.
4. Book Bongo
They accept books even if not free or discounted. However, if you prefer not to avail of their paid services, you must select “FREE BONGO BOOST — Free” when submitting your book. This free feature also comes with the condition that they will only promote selected ones from this group. If they love your book, they will promote it on their social media accounts.
Note that if you chose the free feature, you don’t need to pay anything. If a glitch occurs and it asks for your PayPal details, simply ignore it and close the page. You can read more about this in their FAQ Page.
5. Book Praiser
If you have a permafree book (meaning it’s always free), you can submit it here for promotion. Remember though that they don’t guarantee promotion for their free feature.
6. Discount Book Man
They accept free and discounted books. If you don’t want to pay anything, simply click “No” when asked if you want to avail of their Featured Listing.
7. It’s Write Now
For their free plan, your book will be listed on their front page for 3 days and included in their email newsletter. However, this will only happen if your book is selected because the free plan offers no guarantee for book acceptance.
Your book also has to be on Kindle or Audible, priced at $3 or less and has a family friendly cover. They don’t accept erotica or books with illegal content.
If you are on a budget but would like to avail of their promotion, they are offering their standard and premium promotion plan if you can write a guest post for them. See more details under their “Write For Us” Page.
8. New Free Kindle Books
For the free option, your book should be free or discounted at $0.99.
They need a unique description for your book and states that this should be different from your book’s Amazon description.
9. Pretty-Hot
This website accepts various book genres. I wasn’t able to see any indication that they only accept books at a certain price.
10. The Rebel Christian
They will not accept non-fiction books. You don’t need to pay anything for book promotion but you need to follow the requirements listed on their submissions page.
Your book should be free or priced only up to $2.99
Facebook Groups
Aside from the above websites, you can also use the power of Facebook Groups in promoting your books for free.
Below are just some of the Facebook groups you can look into for your book promo:

Conclusion
If you are an indie self-published author, there are many ways to promote your book on a limited budget. You can submit them to the above free book promotion sites.
You can also join related Facebook Groups that allow authors to promote their books. Just be sure to read and follow the group rules. See which ones are easy to use and then analyze whether they can contribute to your book sales.
