I agree wholeheartedly with your assertion that we need to be loved. Man/Woman is/are not an island. Being loved and knowing that one is loved makes life worthwhile. Most certainly God loves us but sometimes we, on the earthly plane, need to hear those words or feel a loving embrace; basic human affection. True, one must love oneself before they are capable of loving others but having said that we all ache to feel that connection. It's in out 'hard wiring' if you will.
