Thanks for this. I believe that God has all the qualities I admire in any man, all of them perfected to an adorable degree. But, I complain, I want someone with skin on. I pray that I can learn love Him as I mistakenly love a married man (although I am not acting on it, the craving is more painful than any unattainable love I've ever experienced). I pray to God, I can experience and rejoice in His love, and that my longings will be purified and fulfilled in Him. I know He does not expect His children to live totally without the joy of Love.
Hi, Roseanne! There are some that He calls to love Him directly such as nuns. But there are others He calls to live a life of love through human relationships like marriage. Amen. He shows us love in the most unique ways. The greatest romance is between God and the broken sinner. I can see that in my life and even now with a fiancée His love is all the more real and tangible in the picture of marriage, which is a mere shadow of His love for the Church.
